At Oldschool Football Shirts, we sell only authentic football shirts. Verifying the authenticity of our shirts is crucial to us. With the growing popularity of football shirts and the high prices of new ones, it's unfortunately a given that counterfeits and fake football shirts are common. Here are some steps we take to verify the authenticity of a football shirt:
Labels, product codes & serial numbers:
Many football shirts come with product codes/serial numbers or other means of authenticity verification, such as labels. We always check whether the shirt has these labels and/or serial numbers, and then check whether they match the information available from the club or the shirt manufacturer to confirm the authenticity of the shirt. Some (older) shirts don't have product codes simply because the manufacturer didn't use them in the past. Another reason is that some shirt manufacturers include codes that are only relevant to their internal operations.
Logos:
Authentic football shirts have high-quality, accurately placed club and sponsor logos. Errors in spelling, color, or logo size can indicate a counterfeit shirt.
Quality of the fabric:
Authentic football shirts are usually made of high-quality materials. We pay attention to the quality of the fabric, the stitching, and the overall finish. Counterfeit shirts can often be sloppily produced and exhibit defects in the material.
By following these steps, we ensure you always receive an authentic football shirt and prevent disappointments caused by counterfeits. We are very strict when verifying the authenticity of our football shirts. If there's even the slightest doubt about the authenticity of a football shirt, we won't sell it. This is how we maintain the high quality of our football shirts. This is also reflected in our reviews .
